Sneak preview 1 from Ben Z’s “Pangard Trilogy”
I stood there, leaning against my knees and panting, watching my friends die all around me. Random chaos that only the gods could unravel. I stood in one spot like an idiot, trying to figure out what to do. With my captain dead and our side being slaughtered what choice did I have?
I dragged my self over to my captains Grey body and took off his coat. Sliding it over my shoulders, one arching stump at a time. It felt firm against my shoulders yet cozy. I stood up and drew my body straight and stiff, gathering my strength.
“Calvary form up! Infantry hold them off! Don’t let those white-eyed bastards get the best of you. Archers get your asses over here and get ready.” I don’t know if it was my voice, the realization of the disarray, instinct, or the latter but very quickly my orders were executed. “Ready Calvary . Steady… Infantry retreat. Archers load! Aim! If any infantry isn’t running fast enough your going to be hit with an arrow so hurry and form in back of the Calvary. Archers LET LOOSE! Reload. Aim! Fire! Retreat to Bankird Hill and wait farther instructions. Calvary CHARGE! Infantry split into two units. Unit one flank to the left. Unit two flank to the right. Don’t fuck up.”
I felt something stir inside me. A hopefulness. A feeling of control and strength. At that moment I knew I was destined to lead. Destined to command. This was my goal in life now. To become the general to be referred through time as the greatest leader, the father of a new era of commanding.
The enemy started retreating back so I called my forces back to form back up and prepare. I yelled for them to form up at the foot of Bankird Hill, which was only about 100 yards or so away from the open ground we just held.
I found a horse just wandering, mounted up and stood looking over my troops. MY Troops. HA, It feels good to say that! They were looked dirty and pathetic. Many slouched and looked in another direction. They needed moral and I couldn’t deliver it. I know they want reinforcements and fresh weapons. They want to rest and go home.
“Look out there! What do you see? I see cowards! I see piglets squirming under our grasps, but do not make the mistake of thinking a piglet cannot bite. Oh yes, they will bite and bite hard, do not make the mistake that this will be easy. But no matter what they send they will not stop us! They can send Calvary, arrows, wizards, Dragons, and as many thousands of men they want but we will hold this hill even in the after life. If we die we die for glory! We die for honor! We die for love and passion!
The Army drew close and in greater numbers. The rumble was shaking the ground.
“Now pick up your swords and aim high! Show them no fear, for they deserve non! Show them your wrath, your fury, and the might that comes with it!.”
All my men’s eyes where on me, staring at me with bright eyes and small smiles. They stood up straight and looked alert. This is an army to fear. I drew my sword, with a quick slash, and a loud boom. My men gawked in disbelief at my sword. Then I turned to look and my jaw dropped. The sword surged with arcane power shooting a bolt into the sky, leaving streaks of light.
My men drew their swords, and readied themselves.
“Chargeeeee!” My army swam towards the enemy me leading in front. The sky got bright and I felt something shiver from my arm to my sword. A voice in my head told me to point it to the ground so I did. I bolt of dark matter nuzzled its self into the ground creating a shock wave that spread far and wide.
Suddenly the earth to my left and right sprang up in the air rolled and roared. Running at the enemy like a gorilla, using both its knuckles and legs. To tell you the truth I’d much rather meet a gorilla than this beast. It was made of rock and dirt. its back covered with the plants that were once planted in the ground. They strike first smashing there great fists into the enemy Calvary scattering them like flies, leaving dozens demounted or all together dead.
My army bashed into the other army. Giving them no breathing time. I haven’t counted there forces but they were a good 3 times larger than me. my arches shot far and wide hitting the back, while I Calvary hit the front, and my foot soldiers hitting both sides.
I feel my self falling and realize there is an arrow in my shoulder. I hit the ground hard, breaking something here and there, wanting to pass out. I tried to fight it but the light started to fade and I blacked out.

Hey tim! It’s andrew! I was wondering if I could help out at all. I am a fairly good writer if you need stories. I could watch you guys do your missions and base them off of that, or I can make very interesting and mystic stories about the land of WoW and beyond. You can mail me if you want, or you can tell my brother when he is online.
